Ford is officially getting in on the new super muscle trend and joining the ranks of the Dodge Hellcat and Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 with the introduction of a new 2019 Mustang Shelby GT500. In a teaser video released by Ford, they tout this upcoming car as the “most powerful street-legal production Ford ever.” What kind of numbers would warrant such a title? They’re saying that the new GT500 will have over 700 horsepower on tap, pushing it well above the GT supercar or GT350. Providing the power for the new Shelby Mustang is a supercharged V8 engine, which comes as no surprise.
