Leading the global collector car auction industry for the past 40 years, the professionals at RM Sotheby’s specialize in offering immaculate vehicle examples to its large client network across 40 countries. Partnering with the Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance for the last time, RM Sotheby’s sincerely thanks its consignors, partners, bidders, and buyers for the memories of over 20+ years. This year’s Amelia Island event proved to be a remarkable farewell, as the luxury house finished the weekend generating over $70 million in sales, with 92% of all lots sold. Along with an impressive series of art and automotive memorabilia, a diverse mixture of modern and classic cars took the stage to find happy new homes.

While a rare 1959 Ferrari 250 GT LWB California Spider by Scagletti sold after auction for an undisclosed amount, the second most valuable sale of the event came from a track-ready 2010 Pagani Zonda R ‘Revolución Specification’ for a cool $5,340,000. A trio of Ferraris featuring the 288 GTO, F40, and F50 made the top fifteen with a combined value of $10,905,000. Amelia Island is known for attracting the earliest examples of automotive excellence, which is why a 1931 Duesenberg Model J ‘Disappearing Top’ Convertible took the number 4 spot at $4,295,000. The most outstanding statistic of RM Sotheby’s weekend at Amelia Island is the $1.2 million that was raised to benefit Spinal Bifida of Jacksonville. Waving goodbye to Amelia Island in good fashion, RM Sotheby’s looks forward to continuing its beloved hobby with an expanded calendar in South Florida for 2024.
