Sir Lewis Hamilton Has Been Officially Knighted at Windsor Castle

An incredible honor for a deserving driver.

Sir Lewis Hamilton has officially received his knighthood from the Prince of Wales during a ceremony at Windsor Castle today, December 15, 2021. Hamilton is now the fourth Formula 1 driver to be knighted, joining Sir Jack Brabham, Sir Stirling Moss, and Sir Jackie Stewart. This ceremony comes at a time when Hamilton surely needed it after a heartbreaking loss to Max Verstappen at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. And while Sir Lewis Hamilton may be waiting on his eighth Formula 1 World Championship, he can at least take to the track knowing he’s the only knighted driver on the circuit. You can see Sir Lewis Hamilton and his mother Carmen after the ceremony in the video up above uploaded to YouTube by Reuters.
