How Tesla’s Bots Are Walking And Learning About The Real World

Coming a long way since its start as a small-scale auto manufacturer in 2003, Tesla has quickly evolved into an innovative tech conglomerate under the leadership of Elon Musk. Expanding its lineup outside of EVs and at-home solar systems, Tesla has been working on developing Humanoid Robots since the company first announced the project in 2021. Today, Tesla is updating the world on its progress with a YouTube video of the Bots walking around and learning more about the real world.

The Tesla Bots use environment discovery and memorization to adapt to any situation, whether in an office setting or simply walking outside. Joints maintained by motor torque control offer sensitivity detection that can protect the fragile shell of an egg. Tesla programs the humanoid robots to perform simple tasks by using AI training from human demonstrations and testing with end-to-end manipulations. While small steps prove to be milestones for Tesla, the goal is to make task completion more complex. Now, multiple fully Tesla-made bots are seen walking and learning throughout its facility, hoping to lend a helping hand in the future.
