RML creates a Porsche-based track dynamo.
Celebrated for its high-performance engineering exploits, RML recently introduced the eye-catching, retro-inspired Short Wheelbase model, combining classic style and a purist approach to performance with modern engineering excellence. However, RML has announced a new high-performance venture, the P39 project, inspired by the hypercars that battle for victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
The P39, based on the 992.1 Porsche 911 Turbo S, aims to bridge the gap between the racing-ready Le Mans hypercars and roadgoing performance cars. With its immense power and enviable dynamics, RML projects its Nürburgring Nordschleife to be faster than the Porsche 911 GT3 RS. Its twin-turbo flat-six engine boasts an immense 900 horsepower, and combined with aggressive active aerodynamics, including a racing-derived Drag Reduction System, it’s poised to deliver incredible performance.
However, along with its formidable track performance, the RML P39 can go from Track Mode to Tour Mode for roadgoing comfort and driving pleasure. Celebrating 40 years of RML’s engineering excellence is the RML P39 40SE, short for 40th Special Edition, of which only ten examples will be made. With Ruby Red paintwork, bespoke rims, and other special edition touches, the P39 40SE is priced at roughly $644,000, excluding taxes and the cost of the Porsche donor car. With its incredible engineering and duality as a track performer and an enjoyable tourer, the RML P39 is a true hypercar sensation.
