Tied closely to the brief yet iconic ownership of Hollywood star James Dean, the Porsche 550 Spyder, famously known as “Little Bastard,” holds a special place in automotive history. To honor this legacy, Amalgam Collection is proud to present a stunning 1:8 scale model, complete with a hand-painted James Dean figure. Limited to just 30 examples, the model captures the essence of Dean’s car with close attention to detail, requiring over 4,000 development hours and more than 400 hours to build each. Dean’s connection to the Porsche 550 Spyder is both storied and tragic. Acquiring the car in September 1955, he prepared it for upcoming races but sadly met his untimely end before reaching Salinas. Known for its race number 130 and the script “Little Bastard” painted on its rear deck lid, the Spyder became legendary. Crafted with the cooperation of Porsche historians, the model includes thousands of components, from photo-etchings to CNC-machined parts. With an acccurate James Dean figure sculpted and painted by artisans in Venice, this release guarantees the spirit of “Little Bastard” and its famed driver stay in the hearts of fans and collectors.
