Porsche shows off its new electric model in an idyllic driving paradise.
Located along the beautiful Adriatic Sea, Montenegro is one of the most beautiful destinations in the Balkans, with historic villages, world-class beaches, and also the Casino Royale that served as the titular location for the eponymous Casino Royale James Bond movie. However, Montenegro is also home to one of the most captivating driving roads in all of Europe, the Kotor Serpentine Road.
The mountain road in Montenegro’s littoral region served as the setting for Porsche’s new all-electric model, the Macan Electric, to show off its dynamics among gorgeous vistas of the Adriatic. The ancient town of Herceg Novi was the starting point for the stunning drive of the convoy of Porsche Macans to the road, which was built in 1884 by the Austro-Hungarian Empire as a trading route with 25 challenging hairpins.
Despite being built before the automotive industry blossomed into what it is today, the road is a capital for purist car enthusiasts’ enjoyment, and also serves as an FIA-approved hillclimb. The Porsche Macan Turbo took on the historic and daunting route with both its immense electric power, and also its enviable agility, thanks to its use of Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus system, electronically locking differential, and all-wheel drive. In a beautiful location on an iconic driving road, Porsche’s second all-electric model showed off futuristic technology and driver-focused character.
