Porsche announces a new electrified Sonderwunsch masterpiece.
Porsche is known not only for its incredible lineup of luxury performance cars but also for offering the luxury of personalization to a remarkable degree through Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur. This company offers a broad Paint to Sample palette for clients who want to sport head-turning unique colors and even bespoke colors to be created upon request. However, Porsche’s arsenal has an even higher level of individualization and bespoke craftsmanship: Sonderwunsch.
Translating from German to “special wishes,” Sonderwunsch represents Porsche’s ability to make completely bespoke renditions of its vehicles, practically rolling pieces of art. Taking inspiration from history, personal stories, and culture, each Sonderwunsch creation is a marvel of craftsmanship, luxury, and automotive excellence.
The newest is a creation made in collaboration with Porsche Asia Pacific, celebrating jade’s rich and revered cultural significance. The precious gemstone results from thousands of years of heat and pressure exerted on minerals, which fuse to create the transfixing, beautiful material. Its natural creation process results in the formation of beautiful colored patterns, which inspired the bespoke color that adorns the new one-off Porsche Taycan Turbo S Celestial Jade.
The one-of-one Sonderwunsch masterpiece evokes the unforgettable look of jade with Chromaflair paint, one of the most unique and coveted paint effects Porsche offers, in two colors that combine in a gradient from front to back. Chromaflair paint uses incredibly thin flakes to catch the light differently in a “shifting” manner as you look at it from different angles, and it requires incredible innovation to develop. The Taycan Turbo S Celestial Jade combines Chromaflair Urban Bamboo at the front with Chromaflair Shifting Carbon at the rear for an ancient jade-like effect, also evoking the performance-oriented high-tech spirit of Porsche. The new one-off car marks the first time two Chromaflair colors have been combined.
A bespoke logo was also made for the bespoke car, inspired by LongMa, a mythical creature with the head of a dragon and the body of a horse. The logo combines the year 2024, the Chinese zodiac Year of the Dragon, with the Porsche Taycan’s name, which derives from Turkish for “young horse.” The logo is featured throughout, along with special handcrafted varnished carbon fiber finishes.
Another bespoke detail featured in the Taycan Turbo S Celestial Jade is Leather to Sample. Available now for the Taycan, Leather to Sample allows Porsche customers to go beyond the 10 leather and 15 seam colors available for the model. With roughly 150 colors currently available in the Leather to Sample palette, the Taycan Turbo S Celestial Jade combines Slate Grey with Englishgreen leather. Leather to Sample Plus offers bespoke colors, as well. With a truly bespoke configuration using techniques Porsche has never done before, the new Porsche Taycan Turbo S Celestial Jade truly captures both the innovative, luxurious, and artisan spirit of Porsche and its Sonderwunsch program, as well as the mystical and ancient allure of jade.
