Singer touches down in Japan for the first time.
News travels fast in the automotive world, and eyebrows start to raise when people start talking about reimagining classic Porsche 911s through bespoke builds. It’s the story of Rob Dickinson and his 1969 Porsche 911, which became the gateway into Singer Vehicle Design and the eruption of custom-built, air-cooled 911s. With more than 16 years of expertise and 300 builds completed at its California headquarters and transported worldwide, it’s safe to say that Singer 911s have grown into a global phenomenon among car enthusiasts and collectors. In pursuit of making its mark in new regions and reaching a whole new customer base who share the same passion for these cars, Singer is pleased to make its debut in Japan with a special track day at Fuji Speedway.

The Porsche 911 Carrera Coupe Reimagined by Singer made its Japanese debut at Fuji Speedway during Cornes Day 2025, an annual celebration hosted by the Cornes Group, Singer’s Global Partner Network rep in Japan. In the autumn light of Mount Fuji, the event honored a major milestone for Singer Vehicle Design. Bringing a Japanese audience face-to-face with the newest evolution of the air-cooled dream, Singer’s arrival in Japan highlighted the growing popularity of pairing classic Porsche engineering with modern craftsmanship.

The new 911 Reimagined by Singer celebrates Porsche’s legacy with a modern heart: a 4.0-liter, 420-horsepower flat-six engine restored and developed with Cosworth. It revs past 8,000 rpm and includes firsts for the brand, including variable valve timing and water-cooled cylinder heads. Paired to a six-speed manual transmission, it’s a mechanical symphony that remains faithful to the analog experience that defines Porsche. The car’s chassis, strengthened in collaboration with Red Bull Advanced Technologies, and its electronically adjustable dampers guarantee that it performs as flawlessly as it looks.

The car shown at Cornes Day featured stitched and burnished leather seams requiring 400 hours of hand-finished work and velvet corduroy accents in Mars Pink, a vibrant contrast to the Celeste Passalacqua exterior. Technology remains tastefully subtle, offering essentials like navigation and Apple CarPlay without diluting the car’s classic soul. Each commission reflects its owner’s vision, with Singer offering near-limitless options for personalization across color palettes, materials, and options. For Japan’s passionate Porsche community, this event celebrated the timeless spirit of air-cooled performance brought beautifully into the modern age.
