Porsche rounds off the new Taycan generation.
Despite being a futuristic electric vehicle, and Porsche’s first production all-electric model, the Porsche Taycan has been around for long enough that the manufacturer has given it a significant update and a second generation, which has now ushered in a new performance pinnacle for the Taycan in the form of the record-breaking Porsche Taycan Turbo GT. However, Porsche has now added more variants to the second-generation Taycan lineup, including a GTS model, and the new Porsche Taycan 4.
GTS, short for Gran Turismo Sport, has been a highly successful moniker for Porsche, spurring models throughout Porsche’s lineup that combine high performance with luxury and driving pleasure. The new second-generation Porsche Taycan GTS seeks to do the same, positioned between the Porsche Taycan 4S and the Porsche Taycan Turbo.
When using launch control, the new Taycan GTS boasts 690 horsepower, 100 more than the previous generation model. A boost of 93 horsepower is also available with a push-to-pass function like that of the Taycan Turbo GT. Available as a sedan or a Sport Turismo station wagon, the new Taycan GTS will get from 0-60 in just 3.1 seconds, with the sedan completing a quarter-mile in 11.1 seconds, besting the last generation by 0.7 seconds. Its combination of sporty character and luxury is further exemplified with a wide range of design options, a standard Bose surround sound system, and optional rear-axle steering.
Meanwhile, the new Porsche Taycan 4 boasts the Taycan’s impressive efficiency, combined with the practical benefits of all-wheel drive. It boasts 402 horsepower, or 429 with Launch Control, and it can get from 0-60 in just 4.4 seconds. The new Porsche Taycan 4 carries a starting MSRP of $103,300. The GTS, towards the other end of the spectrum, starts at $147,900 for the sedan, and $149,800 for the Sport Turismo. Both are set to arrive at dealers in the first quarter of 2025, with Slate Grey Neo, Pale Blue Metallic, and Purple Sky Metallic being added to the color palette. With these new models, a total of 13 variants of the second-generation Porsche Taycan are now available.
