The Porsche looking to showcase its factory performance at Pikes Peak.
Defining itself as one of the most challenging sprint circuits in motorsport history, the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb continues to push manufacturers and teams to the limit of performance. This year proves to be special for the annual 12.42-mile uphill expedition, as drivers will be participating in the 100th running of the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. One of the daring drivers looking to take on the mountainous twists and turns is David Donner, a three-time King of the Mountain who is aiming to set the production car record behind the wheel of a 2022 Porsche 911 Turbo S. Knowing his way around a Porsche, Donner previously teamed up with Porsche collector Jim Edwards and 000 editor Pete Stout to win the Pikes Peak 2020 Time Attack 1 class in a 911 GT2 RS Clubsport.

The track weapon for Donner and his team is a 2022 Porsche 911 Turbo S that went straight from a showroom floor to the race shop for competition preparation. The livery of the once stock exterior presents a ‘Print isn’t Dead’ theme, which incorporates vibrant colors and magazine graphics that pay homage to the early marketing efforts of Porsche. While the brand new 911 Turbo S lightweight package sheds 80-pounds, all 640 horsepower will harness extra torque to beat the previous 10-minute and 18.488-seconds record set by a Bentley Continental GT in 2019.
