Ken Block & Vaughn Gittin Jr. vs 2020 Shelby GT500

Do your rear tires evaporate on a weekly basis? If so, you might have a drifting addiction. Two of the most popular Mustang enthusiasts were invited to Goodwood try out Ford’s latest creation, so let’s watch Ken Block & Vaughn Gittin Jr versus a 2020 Shelby GT500. Uploaded to Ken’s YouTube page, we are treated to an inside view of the paddock. What immediately stands out are the carbon fiber wheels. While they are not new to Mustang, the reduction in un-sprung weight offers a smooth ride.

Speaking of the ride, it is controlled by the latest generation of GM’s Magneride. Much like the 2020 C8 Corvette Stingray, this 4th generation system relies on electrical coils inside and outside the shocks. Vaughn knows how to handle a Mustang because his RTR builds arrive “Ready To Race”. Such is the case with the new GT500, as it offers 760 horsepower and 625 lb-ft of torque. The dual-clutch transmission is perfect for drifting, as power is not interrupted during the shift. Tell us what you think of this mean Mustang in the comments below, and stay with us for all your Hoonigan/RTR updates.
