1993 Dodge Viper RT/10 With 181 Miles For Sale

They built it because everyone said they wouldn’t. The Gen 1 Dodge Viper was an incredible machine. Chrysler wanted to build a modern interpretation of the Shelby Cobra, so they asked Carroll to oversee the development. It launched in 1992 with an 8-Liter V10 and a six-speed manual transmission. And that’s about all it had.

With an emphasis on being as light as possible, the composite body did not include outside door handles, ABS, or traction control. Instead of windows, two pieces of Eisenglass had zippers to hold them in place.

To achieve 400 horsepower, engineers added two-cylinder to the 360 Magnum V8. This produced an odd firing order that gives the car a distinct rumble. It also has 465 lb-ft of torque sent to an independent rear suspension. A car that rebuked technology was embraced by the world, and a generation of owners was rewarded by an analog supercar.

Chrysler canceled the car in 2010 and upset the entire automotive community. Realizing their mistake, a new Viper was launched in 2013. Sales of sports cars slowed in 2017, and the Viper left us for good. Despite this, prices continue to increase. Much like a Ferrari F40, if you stored one in new condition it could be worth a small fortune.

Our friends at Automobiles Etcetera found just such a car, and it is a rare Canadian market example. This 1-owner car has been kept in a museum since delivery, and it has only been driven 292 km (181 miles) Red paint and gray leather show no signs of wear, and the tires have all their tread. This car will only go up in value. It is a tribute to a time in automotive history that will never be repeated.
