What do you want for your 100th birthday? That is what Lamborghini employees asked themselves to celebrate the century-mark of their founder. Ferruccio Lamborghini was born on April 28, 1916, and his automobiles created the industry of street-legal supercars. So the company decided to build 20 Centenario coupes and 20 roadsters in his honor.
Only a handful of were built for the US market, and this is the only example ordered in Nero Aldebaran with Red trim. It rides on a specially tuned magnetic suspension that is also offered on the Aventador SV. The carbon fiber body was assembled by hand and fired in one of the largest autoclaves on earth. Under the rear bonnet is a 6.5 liter V12. It was ported and built by hand to offer 759 horsepower without the need for turbos or a supercharger.
The Centenario emerged from the factory in 2016, which was also 50 years since the Miura began production. Each example had a starting price of $2,000,000, and they were all sold before production began. It is capable of reaching 60 mph in 2.8 seconds with a top speed of 217 mph.
