The original Ford F150 Raptor was an absolute game-changer when it was introduced back in 2010. Other vehicles with “off-road” packages existed before the Raptor but most were pretty lame. Ford, on the other hand, created a truck that was focused on performance in the dirt and went way beyond what anybody had ever seen.
Nevertheless, some people can’t leave a good thing alone. 4 Wheel Parts Platinum Service built this 2017 Raptor out to be an even better killer on the street and off-road.
Out front of the truck is an N-Fab M-RDS PreRunner front bumper. It protects the nose of the Raptor and incorporates the beefy stock skid plate. It also makes the perfect mount for a Rigid Industries 40-inch RDS series LED light bar. The curved light puts out plenty of lumens, keeping the trail in front of the Raptor illuminated at any speed.
The new Raptor’s factory suspension is ready to rock & roll off the showroom floor, with a healthy 13 inches of wheel travel in the front, and 13.9 inches in the rear. Controlling the front is a massive 3.0-inch diameter Fox Racing Shox internal bypass shock. 4 Wheel Parts replaced factory tires with 37×12.50R17 Pro Comp Xtreme MT2 tires. They are wrapped around new Pro Comp Vapor Pro 2 beadlock wheels that were powder-coated silver to break up the black paint scheme.
Out back, a custom N-FAB bed rack holds two fullsize 37-inch Pro Comp Xtreme MT2 spare tires. What looks like a bed liner is actually a BedRug BedTred Ultra. It uses hook and loop fasteners to attach to the bed and provides a tough, textured non-skid surface. Attached to the custom N-Fab bed cage is a set of Rigid 2×2 Scene LED lights. They provide a wide 115-degree spread of light, making them ideal for side illumination or remote pit lighting. Under the hood find a 3.5L EcoBoost twin-turbo V6 engine generating 450 horsepower and 510 lb-ft of torque.
