Koenigsegg CCXR Trevita Owned by Floyd Mayweather Headed to Auction

In 2015, Floyd Mayweather unveiled his $4.8 million supercar purchase: a Koenigsegg CCXR Trevita. This Swedish supercar is number 3 of 3 that was planned for production, however only two Trevitas were ever built. Now, Mecum Auctions is auctioning off the very car Mayweather once owned.

The name of the car, Trevita, comes from a Swedish abbreviation that translates to “three whites.” Why three whites? As stated right above, Koenigsegg planned to make three examples of the Trevita, all in a white diamond weave carbon fiber exterior. The method used to create the stunning appearance is Koenigsegg’s own proprietary method that involves treated the carbon fiber in small quantities. However, this method proved to be too complex during the production processing, and that’s why Koenigsegg only produced two examples of the car.

Underneath the exterior of the Trevita rests an equally stunning all-aluminum 4.8-liter V8 engine that’s equipped with two superchargers, double overhead cams, dry-sump lubrication, Inconel exhaust and flex-fuel capability. The output of the engine is rated at a phenomenal 1,018 horsepower and 787 lb-ft of torque (E85 fuel), all of which is sent to the rear wheels. Mated the engine is a specially developed Xtrac Super Synchro paddle-shift 6-speed transverse gearbox with a torque-sensitive limited-slip differential.

The Koenigsegg CCXR Trevita is undoubtedly one of the greatest supercars on the planet, and this very one was owned by one of the greatest boxers to have ever lived. If you’re interested in owning a piece of automotive history, be sure to bid on the supercar at Mecum’s Monterey 2017 event, running August 16-19, 2017.
