McLaren P1 #330 Could Be Yours!

Only 375 examples of the McLaren P1 were built, and #330 was ordered with every option. The McLaren P1 was their first hybrid, and they didn’t go about electricity in a meager way. A twin-turbo V8 and the latest in battery technology were combined to create the ultimate Hypercar.

It offers 903 horsepower and 723 lb-ft of torque, along with all the safety and stability systems you could imagine. Choosing to turn them off is not wise, because the P1 is a great investment. The suspension uses high-pressure hydraulics instead of sway bars, making it quite comfortable. With a fully charged battery, you will have 20 miles of electric cruising at your command.

Most people believe turbos build boost with increased exhaust flow. While this is true, turbos really come alive when an engine is under load. McLaren’s ingenious programming places additional load on the engine to make instant boost, which means more power. But if you aren’t racing, the P1 is as tame as a kitten. All chassis components are bonded to the carbon fiber cockpit “MonoCage”. Each hand-laid layer is at a right angle to the weave below it, and the cockpit is vacuum bagged and fired in the autoclave as one-piece. When assembly begins the MonoCage is only 198 lbs, and stronger than steel.

When new, the P1 had a base price of $1.35 Million, without options. And it is the options that make each one unique. In this case, McLaren P1 #330 was ordered with $114,327 in personalization from McLaren Special Operations. The Dark Palladium exterior is complemented by matte-finish carbon fiber. It has only been driven 535 miles, and it will be a primetime lot at Mecum’s Monterey Auction. Pre-auction estimates of $1.7 to 1.8 Million will ensure the bidding will be intense, so be sure to tune in to Mecum’s live stream on YouTube and stay with us for all your Mecum coverage.
