Rare and Low-Mileage 1987 Porsche 959 For Sale

Overton Automotive Brokers is offering one of the rarest Porsches ever created: the 959. This 1987 Porsche 959 example is 41 out of the small number of 294 that were ever produced.

Its exterior is finished in Silver with seats that are covered in multiple colors that match the overall aesthetic of the cabin. This color scheme was actually quite popular for the 959 when it was originally produced.

As for the car itself, it was originally delivered to its owner in Japan. Interestingly enough, the original owner ordered two different 959s. When the car was imported through Canepa, it had only 2,395 km (1,488.184 miles) on its odometer. Furthermore, Canepa also modified the car’s suspension from the factory setup to an “S” equivalent.

If you’re wondering why we’re so excited about a car like this 959, it’s because it was Porsche’s first true supercar. Back when the 959 was being produced, it was the fastest production car thanks to its 0-60 mph time of just 3.6 seconds and a top speed of 197 mph. Additionally, it was one of the first cars with adjustable suspension. To say this car is a shining star in Porsche’s long history would be an understatement.
