Route 32 Auctions Closes Out the Year With Strong Prices

With nearly 500 lots of and advertising items, Route 32 Auctions shows great success in Crawfordsville, IN at their final scheduled auction of the year. The auction featured many rare and seldom seen items ranging from oil cans to signs and everything in between. Collectors from around the country filled the seats and the online bidding was strong throughout the day.

One of the most anticipated items in the auctions was lot 150, a Buckeye Stages bus depot porcelain sign. This bus depot sign was featured on the from the cover of their catalog and hammered at an astounding $28,000.00. Lot 149, a rare Conoco superior gasoline porcelain sign, was another of the top selling items of the day with a final hammer price of $25,000.00. The Gasco motor fuel porcelain gas pump plate, lot 145, was another very anticipated item in the auction. This near mint piece reached a hammer price of $12,000 and was one of the best examples known. A very early Goodyear service station horizontal tin sign, lot 146, was an excellent example of early Goodyear advertising and hammered at a price of $7,500.00. Those four signs were the top four selling items of the auction and there were many other pieces that commanded strong numbers.
