Today, we know Tesla as one of the world’s most prominent, popular, and successful electric vehicle manufacturers. With a developed charging infrastructure and fans all over the world, there’s no denying that Tesla’s success has made significant contributions to the progression of electric vehicles. However, it wasn’t very long ago when Tesla existed on a much smaller scale, with the now-rare Tesla Roadster, a sleek electric sports car based on the nimble Lotus Elise. With one in space, and few even made at all, Tesla Roadsters are quite rare, but a Tweet from @DriveTeslaca shows that recently, two 0-mile examples of the iconic car have been unearthed.

Found in shipping containers, these Teslas were apparently abandoned by their original buyer in 2010. The three cars were found in China, and are now being sold as a collection in their absolutely pristine collection. Being the beginning of an incredible legacy of electric cars, and a pioneer in what much of the automotive industry now sees as the future of transportation, these Tesla Roadsters already have incredible historic value, and as the years go on, this will only increase, especially considering the rarity. In his own words, Elon Musk, who replied to the tweet said “These are increasingly rare.” These electric trailblazers are sure to sell for a pretty penny.
