New Tesla Model S P100D is “Quickest Production Car in the World”

It’s no secret that Elon Musk and Tesla set out to prove electric and performance can, indeed, work hand in hand, and the latest information proves they succeeded. The Model S P100D, which features Ludicrous mode that allows the car to accelerate from 0-60 in a splintering 2.5 seconds, has been named the “third fastest accelerating production car ever produced.” What’s more, the Model S P100D is the only model in the top three that can still be purchased new.

Holding the first and second slots are the LaFerrari and the Porsche 918 Spyder, both of which were limited production models and no longer available new. The P100D option is available for those who have ordered the Model S but not yet taken delivery. It will cost buyers an additional $10,000. If you own a P90D Ludicrous Model S, it will cost $20,000 to updated, as they will have to recycle the old 90 kWh pack. What’s more. Tesla will be released a Model X P100D with Ludicrous mode, while will accelerate the car from 0-60 mph in 2.9 seconds.

Along with their superior safety ratings, earth conscious electric motors and cult-fandom, this news gives Tesla yet another edge in the market.
