Watch the SpaceX Starship’s First Successful Flight

We’re getting closer to traveling to the red planet and private space travel.

Space is truly the next frontier, especially when it comes to private travel and SpaceX is looking to be at the forefront with their Starship. The Starship has been designed to take a crew and cargo to orbit, the Moon, Mars and possibly even further. Now, after the May 5th test flight, the Starship is one step closer to becoming a working spacecraft. This high-altitude flight test was the fifth of its kind, but the first successful one. After traveling to approximately 10km in altitude, Starship serial number 15 descended back to Earth and onto the landing pad. Seeing the Starship’s nominal landing is a truly exciting sight and you can witness it for yourself in the video up above.

As mentioned before, private space flights are only going to grow in popularity and it’s successful tests like this one that make them closer to becoming a reality. In fact, Japanese entrepreneur Yusaku Maezawa and the crew of dearMoon will be partaking in the first private lunar mission in 2023 and the Starship will be the spacecraft to make it happen. The dearMoon project is currently accepting applications as well for crew members.
