Masterfully crafted in satin-brushed titanium with a platinum bezel, the new Royal Oak Selfwinding Perpetual Calendar Ultra-Thin watch is a world-first. It was introduced as a prototype (RD#2) in 2018, but has now made its way to full production. It is the thinnest automatic perpetual calendar wristwatch.  The brand’s technological milestone houses a movement that measures just 2.89mm thick. The Manufacture Caliber 5133 offers complete calendar functions, including moonphase indications. To create the watch, the movement had to be rethought and reduced from a typical three-level calendar set up to a single layer. The 41mm watch is finished with a screw-locked crown, glare-proof sapphire crystal and caseback for viewing the movement.

This year, Audemars Piguet did something highly unusual. It unveiled an all-new collection to join its legendary pillars (Millenary, Royal Oak, Royal Oak Offshore).  Called the Code 11.59, the new series runs the gamut from simple timepieces to complicated watches. They feature a round case with double-domed sapphire crystal. This 41mm 18-carat white gold Code 11.59 Selfwinding Chronograph further features polished and brushed case sides and a rich blue lacquer dial. Even the chronograph subdial is blue lacquered and there is an inner blue lacquered bezel. The Caliber 4401 offers an instant-jump date indication. It is equipped with a vertical column wheel chronograph and a flyback function to allow for resetting of the chronograph without having to stop and reset it first.

Bold and daring, the newest Corum Heritage Lab 01 watches are created in a limited edition of just 99 pieces in one of four different color ways. The Lab series is where Corum experiments with different technology, materials and designs.  The case of this blue version is made of Damascus steel, which offers a unique patterning that comes into play during the heating of the steel. The case sides are in rubber, as is the strap. So as not to interfere with the architecture of the tonneau-shaped case, the crown is placed at 6:00. The openworked dial is made in charcoal gray and bold blue. Powered by the CO 410 automatic movement, the watch offers 50 hours of power reserve and is water resistant to 50 meters.

The Admiral AC-One 45 Openworked Tourbillon Automatic watch is crafted in titanium, with a 45mm diameter. It offers hours and minutes, as well as power reserve at 3:00.  Nicely nestled at 6:00 on the dial is the round aperture for viewing the tourbillon escapement. The tourbillon compensates for errors in timekeeping due to the effects of gravity on the wrist in certain positions. Paying tribute to the great Winston Churchill, Cuervo y Sobrinos—the brand with Cuban roots but now Swiss made – showcases the 43mm stainless steel case with striking white lacquered ceramic dial. The dial features gray anthracite lines that recall the old “craquele” (crackle) vintage appeal.  Each dial has its number printed on it beneath the Churchill name. The watch is powered by the CyS 5204 automatic movement with 38 hours of power reserve. The rotor boasts a fan decoration and the CyS logo engraving. For decades, Eberhard & Co. has had a strong relationship with champion driver Tazio Nuvolari and the Nuvolari Grand Prix race dedicated to him. In fact, Eberhard is the Chronometer and Official Partner of that Grand Prix. As such, the brand regularly creates tribute timepieces in honor of his legend. This Tazio Nuvolari Chronograph Legend watch is a retro-inspired automatic watch with black dial and center spiral tachymeter scale. The scale is offered in km/hr format. It is finished in “Kudu” leather, which looks and feels very soft, like suede. The sapphire crystal and caseback allows for viewing of the movement. It comes in either 39.5mm or 43mm.

Created as a tribute to the historic Italian car brand, Alfa Romeo, the Eberhard  “Quadrifoglio Verde” Chronograph is created in a limited edition of just 250 pieces. The generous 43mm stainless steel case houses an automatic movement. The mechanical caliber offers chronograph that displays the hour and minute totalizers at 12:00 and 6:00 with a central seconds hand. The small subdial seconds dial at 9:00 is read via a hand shaped like a triangle and featuring a clover leaf emblem. The black dial is further equipped with a tachymeter on the outer portion for measuring speed or distance.  The watch is finished with a red-accented and black strap lined in red.

The final result is not only a great look, but also one of the hardest scratch-resistant transparent materials in watchmaking to date. The watch is ultra lightweight at 107 grams (less than 4 ounces) on the wrist. It is finished with a transparent yellow rubber strap. The newest fluid watch from HYT is a play on being in the here and now.  Just 25 pieces will be made of this avant-garde skull design. The dial of each watch is created using titanium and is drilled with nearly 1,000 tiny holes in order to spell out the number for each hour.  The dial is also comprised of 313 18-karat gold pins to achieve depth and dimension. Instead of the second’s hand appearing in the left eye as in some HYT watches, the words soon and now appear. As with all HYT watches, the liquid fluids indicate the time.   Measuring 48.8mm in diameter, the Soonow is water resistant to 50 meters.
