BMW’s M division built the M1 because the world didn’t believe they would do it. This normally conservative German luxury automaker would not build a V12 mid-engine supercar. But that is exactly what they did. It was revolutionary by competing directly with Lamborghini and Ferrari for the first time. Because surviving examples are incredibly valuable, the Lego BMW M1 needs our support.
One Lego creator has the ultimate tribute. Master Builder “TOMOELL” has submitted two examples to Lego Ideas. A red version is a street-legal car, and the other is the iconic #6 fielded by Procar and Piquet.
