McIntosh has just announced the new MC901 Dual Mono Amplifier, a stunning piece of equipment that looks like a piece of tech from the future. As the name suggests, this is a dual-mono amplifier, meaning it has two amplifiers combined into one piece of equipment– a 300-watt vacuum amplifier attached to a 600-watt solid state amplifier.
The 300-watt amp takes care of a speaker’s mid and upper drivers, while the 600-watt amp is in charge of providing power for the woofers. What’s more, these amps will deliver their full power no matter the speaker’s Ohm impedance. As for its looks, this amp is truly a beautiful piece of work but that’s expected from McIntosh. Most people will either notice the amp’s vacuum tubes or the “McIntosh Blue” watt meter right away.
