Belstaff and McLaren Automotive have teamed up to create a new collection of men’s and women’s luxury clothes. The collaboration is the first one like it between the two British companies and it sets a high bar. Each piece within the collection has been designed in a way so that the seam lines and stretch fabrics allow for a full range of motion when either behind the wheel of a car or out on the town.
There are a total of 10 men’s outerwear items and three women’s items within the Belstaff X McLaren Collection. Colors in the collection are limited to black and navy, allowing them to be matched to a myriad of other clothing pieces. The collection revolves around three outerwear styles, according to McLaren. This includes the all-season Performance Shell Field Jacket, Lightweight Hero Driving Jacket ($595) and Hybrid Leather Driving Jacket ($1,595).
“The Belstaff X McLaren Collection represents the pure distillation of what you need, made ,” says Rob Melville, McLaren Automotive Design Director. “There is no excess. Everything is there for a reason. This is part of the McLaren DNA but it is also in Belstaff DNA and working with Belstaff on the Collection has been a meeting of like minds. Applying McLaren principles to different products and watching them come to life has been enthralling.”
As of today, November 6, 2018, the Belstaff X McLaren Collection has launched across the USA and is available at selected McLaren Automotive retailers and Belstaff stores. The collection starts with from $210 with the stretch poplin or base layer merino top.
