Top 5 Racing Games for PS4 in 2016

If you like reading about cars or driving them in real life, odds are you’re a fan of racing them virtually. For years, video games have acted as an escape for automotive enthusiasts, dating back to the 1970’s. It wasn’t until the release of Gran Turismo on the Playstation 1 in 1997 that racing games became more serious and more lifelike than ever before. Since then, we’ve had multiple iterations of the Gran Turismo game and have seen new titles pop up every where. Some of these titles have stuck around and become staples (see Forza Motorsport).

Today, I put together the top five racing games on the Playstation 4 according to the review scores on Metacritic.com. These ratings take into account review scores from around the internet and combine them into one cumulative score.

Project CARS came into the world as the first in its series, something rare nowadays. What drew me to this game, personally, was the ability to start off as a kart racer and work my way all the way up to the highest tiers of racing. It’s a long journey, but one you’ll appreciate every step of the way.
