Project Amels 200-01’s sale was announced back in 2019 and now we get to see the superyacht as it’s being launched. Damen Yachting has announced the launch of the Amels 200 as it gets ready for final outfitting and commissions which will take place quayside. While we wait for it to finish, we at least get to see its stunning design.
Tim Heywood, the exterior designer of the Amels 200, has this to say regarding the superyacht’s appearance: “There are many features of this design that bring a smile to my face. The many flying buttresses, the complex winding surfaces, the upturned deck ends, the integrated life rafts, the sculptural mast and the complex stern, all form a harmonious design that sits securely in her environment, of which I am extremely proud. I believe her delicate, fluid lines will prove to be timeless and she will still look as attractive in 50 years’ time, as she does now.”
While the Amels 200 does have some carryovers from its predecessors (hybrid technology, four-deck elevator, naval architecture, high volume and air-conditioned gym on the Sun Deck), there is a long list of enhancements thanks to its increased length. From the larger aft decks and swim platform to the full-height windows in the Owner’s Suite, there is a lot to be discovered.
