It’s essentially a luxury limousine for underwater adventures.

U-Boat Worx has just unveiled their new 9-person flagship submersible, named the Nexus, and it looks like it came straight out of a science fiction film. However, this is most definitely a real sub and it’s really impressive. The new Nexus sub is available in either a 9- or 7-person layout, with the latter being “marginally smaller,” according to U-Boat Worx.

The new NEXUS sub from is quite the creation, being able to fit 8 passengers in comfortable seats and 1 extra seat for the captain. These subs are powered by lithium-ion batteries that allow them to operate for up to 18 hours and partake in 10 dives per day.

As for the build itself, there’s a giant acrylic pressure hull that gives passengers a wonderous view of the underwater views. In order to get inside the sub and enjoy the views, you first have to enter. But, don’t worry, because the new Nexus subs have a new entrance hatch that is the largest ever for a sub of this size.

To launch the Nexus submersible, that can occur through either a ship-based launch/recovery or land deployment where it is transferred to a dive site. When it’s time to dive, U-Boat Worx notes that the new Nexus submersible is depth-rated to 200 meters (650 feet).
