Volvo Penta has just announced their new Assisted Docking technology that will make one of the most difficult aspects of boating a a breeze. Let’s face it, no matter how experienced of a captain you are, there are times when docking can get sketchy. Now, with Volvo Penta’s new docking tech, docking has never been easier. Controlled by a joystick, the captain can direct any boat equipped with the system in very specific way: forward, sideways and even in 360-degrees spins. When these movements are made, the system takes into account external forces such as wind and current. Calculations are made and the system compensates for these forces, keeping the boat on the directed path even if the wind is blowing hard. Even when the joystick is not being used, the system allows the boat to stay at a complete standstill. Check out the video below to learn more and even see this groundbreaking tech in action. Also check out the Sea Force 510 Center Console, a $2.25 million masterpiece.
