Our Favorite Mansions on the West Coast of Florida

The west coast of Florida attracts second-home-seekers with its subtropical climate, gleaming scenery and water sports galore, not to mention its up-and-coming downtown areas, elite golf courses, fine dining and boutique shopping. As it happens, the internationally-regarded offices of duPont REGISTRY™ are headquartered in Saint Petersburg, within the Tampa Bay area.

Here, Lightning hockey, Buccaneers football and Tampa Bay Rays baseball are but a few of the major events that attract fans to energetic downtown areas. Local markets in Downtown Saint Petersburg, Greek cultural events along the quaint strip of Tarpon Springs and Gasparilla celebrations along Bayshore Boulevard in Tampa entice locals to explore all the area has to offer.

Further south, discover a more laid-back atmosphere along the shores of Anna Maria, Bradenton Beach and Longboat Key. These beach towns revel in the beauty of long, wide sandy waterfront lined with colorful beach homes. Locals spend most of their time on the water boating or enjoying water activities.

Casey Key is an enclave exclusive to the extremely wealthy. Homes sprawling 10,000 square feet and more are privately nestled along a narrow road. Celebrities have taken up residence here and frequent the high-end amenities, including the Oaks Club. This renowned golf course community boasts a classic Georgian style clubhouse and upscale accoutrements.

Firmly cemented in its history of wealth, Boca Grande is where high-end homeowners are secluded to their elite lifestyles. Residing at the mouth of Charlotte Harbor on Gasparilla Island, Boca Grande is ideal for its privacy and rich tradition. While some development has occurred at either end of the island, the historic downtown has vastly remained untouched.

Naples is one of the west coast’s most wealthy markets, drawing high-end homebuyers to its prestigious golf courses and affluently-targeted dining and shopping. With some of the highest-priced homes in Florida, Naples still has no shortage of buyers. Impressive estates are everywhere, as are cultural attractions, country clubs and incredible water views.
