Bentley Continental GT V8 Runs 169 mph on the Autobahn

Why drive a V8 when you could have a W12? Bentley purists were quick to voice this opinion when the Continental V8 debuted in 2013. Seeing the need for a lighter & less complex engine, they borrowed a twin turbo 4.0L V8 from Audi. Customers instantly saw an advantage in terms of fuel mileage and service costs, as the model has been a hit in the US.

Capable of 500 hp and 486 lb-ft of torque, it uses cylinder deactivation to become a 2.0L V4 when cruising. The EPA was so impressed that it rated the 5,000 lb coupe at 25 mpg on the highway. Incredible efficiency from an AWD luxury car. We know the W12 and Supersports versions are capable of incredible acceleration, but what happens when a German powered Bentley hits the Autobahn?
