The announcement of a sedan concept expands Volkswagen’s fully-electric vehicle range.
Volkswagen has charged full steam ahead towards electrification, with the announcement of new models that will slingshot the brand into the future, and yet another upcoming fully-electric Volkswagen has just been announced, the ID. AERO, a premium mid-size sedan with 385 miles of range and an incredible drag coefficient of just 0.23. The electric architecture of the car allows for a wheelbase and structure that prioritizes a spacious interior. The model will be sold first in China starting in the second half of 2023, with a global rollout to follow, and it will serve as the flagship model of Volkswagen’s electric vehicle family.

The sleek, aerodynamic design of the car is complemented by 22-inch wheels, illuminated touch surfaces instead of door handles, Polar Light Blue Metallic paintwork that reveals a golden shimmer in the light, and at nearly 16 feet in length, it’s a luxurious and accommodating vehicle that combines technology, efficiency, and luxury. The production version of the car will come off the assembly line in 2023, and the Emden plant where it will be made will be given the honor of making a huge stride towards electrifying the Volkswagen brand.
