The Dubai-based car manufacturer that gained notoriety for the Lykan Hypersport is back with another insane design ready to take on the hypercars of the world: the Fenyr SuperSport.
W Motors released photos today on their Facebook page of this newest creation, an aggressive evolution of the Lykan Hypersport’s design. As their website describes, only 25 examples of this new beast will be created every year, each featuring a 4.0-liter twin turbo, mid-rear engine capable of 900 hp and 885 lb-ft, making it one incredibly powerful car that lives up to its name.
“The earth will shake violently, trees will be uprooted, mountains will fall, and all binds will snap – and Fenyr will be free,” describes the caption of the photos on Facebook and the W Motors website. It’s an adapted quote from the Prose Edda, one of the oldest manuscripts documenting Norse mythology in the world. As the Encyclopedia Britannica describes, the phrase used comes from a description of doomsday, when the wolf Fenrir, Loki’s son, would break free and wreak havoc on the world.
With a projected 0-62 mph time of under 2.7 seconds and a top speed in excess of 250 mph, Fenyr will undoubtedly cause quite a stir in the world, though hopefully not one of a “doomsday” proportion.
