W Motors Lykan HyperSport is Coming to North America

If you saw the blockbuster film “Furious 7,” then you saw the W Motors Lykan HyperSport. If you can’t recall it, just think back to the scene where a car jumped through three of the Etihad Towers in Abu Dhabi as it plunged 45 floors to the ground. The car performing this insane stunt was the Lykan HyperSport, which has become one of the most popular hypercars out there.

But, the HyperSport is more than just a hypercar: it’s a modern marvel. Providing power is a twin-turbo flat-six mid-rear engine that offers up 780 hp and 737 lb-ft of torque. This power is routed through a quick 7-speed dual-clutch transmission that allows for a 0-62 mph time of just 2.8 seconds and a top speed of 245 mph.

If the power wasn’t enough, the aesthetics, technology and materials found in this car are other-worldly. Inside, the driver will find a one-of-a-kind holographic display with interactive motion and tactile interior, as well as an ID4Motion dashboard. On the outside, the star features of the car, aside from the innovative reverse mechanical doors and stunning styling, are the diamond and sapphire encrusted LED lights. Yes, you heard that correctly: it has jeweled headlights. And, yes, they look magnificent.

If you’re wondering why you haven’t experienced this amazing car in North America yet, it’s because one hasn’t made its way overseas…until now. Royal Motor Cars, the exclusive W Motors dealer for North America, is bringing one to the market. This means collectors and enthusiasts will soon have their chance at one of these exclusive automobiles.

As for the film, Universal’s producers were looking for a car that was different and truly unique. According to an April 7 press release from W Motors, the Lykan HyperSport was chosen because it “is so rare, exclusive, unique and to top it all the first United Arab Emirates based Supercar.”

The car was driven by Vin Diesel’s character, Dom, who, upon seeing the car locked up, says, “There’s nothing sadder than locking a beast in a cage,” before ripping it through the town.

Speaking on having his automobile featured in the movie, W Motors CEO and Chairman Ralph R. Debbas said, “It is an honor for us to be featured in this Hollywood blockbuster and to have been part of the team who have worked very hard to pay tribute to the late Paul Walker. The whole adventure has been thrilling from the start and we are gaining tremendous exposure and international recognition since the release.”

The Lykan HyperSport is just the beginning for United Arab Emirates-based W Motors. In fact, they are planning on moving their assembly and production from Torino, Italy, to their home in the UAE and hope to have the new SuperSport coming out very soon.
