Audemars Piguet Unveils the Limited Edition Royal Oak Concept “Black Panther” Flying Tourbillon

Audemars Piguet has unveiled a new timepiece that honors the King of Wakanda.

During the recent “Audemars Piguet & Friends, Live Show from Los Angeles” virtual event hosted by Kevin Hart, the watchmaker unveiled the first of its first piece in the new Marvel Super Hero watch series. This first piece is the new Royal Oak Concept “Black Panther” Flying Tourbillon and a very special version of the timepiece was auctioned off to benefit a program developed by First Book, Ashoka and Audemars Piguet. According to the watchmaker, this program seeks to support students from low-income families and historically excluded communities with tools to drive long-term impactful change in their communities and help them realize the power they have to do so.” Celebrities in attendance at the event included LeBron James, Serena Williams, Ian Poulter, Anthony Joshua, Lu Han, Jon Gray and Mark Ronson.

In the gallery below, you can see two separate versions of the watch, with the first one being the unique example that was auctioned off. Unlike the standard version, this special Royal Oak Concept “Black Panther” Flying Tourbillon has a hand-engraved 18-carat gold case and bezel. Both the standard and unique versions of the watch include a Black Panther motif, purple rubber strap and a flying tourbillon. The standard version has a titanium case with a black ceramic bezel and crown.
