Selling for a whopping $254,000, Lewis Hamilton’s watch joined his journey to a record-breaking ninth British Grand Prix win at Silverstone. Wearing the IWC Pilot’s Watch Performance Chronograph 41 Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team on his wrist, Hamilton held the trophy high. Now, one lucky fan owns the watch Hamilton wore on that unforgettable day, along with his race gloves, signed by the champ himself. All proceeds from the sale went directly to the Laureus Foundation Switzerland, contributing to the development of social sports projects in Switzerland. Founded in 2006 by IWC Schaffhausen, Laureus supports more than 20,000 children every year.
The chronograph represents IWC’s ongoing partnership with Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1, with a 41mm Ceratanium case that combines titanium’s lightness with ceramic’s durability. Its black dial with recessed subdials and Super-LumiNova details offers excellent readability, day or night. The watch is powered by IWC’s in-house 69385 caliber and delivers an impressive 46-hour power reserve. A tinted sapphire case back reveals the complex movement. Fitted with a black rubber strap and matching Ceratanium pin buckle, it’s a symbol of Hamilton’s perseverance and a rare piece in motorsport history.
