Marked as one of the most anticipated days for watch enthusiasts, Rolex has released its new models as part of Watches and Wonders 2021. The models featured in the 2021 Collection are the Explorer, Explorer II, Datejust 36, and Daytona Cosmograph. Rolex continues to add its own artistic flair by incorporating new and exclusive dial designs. Along with state-of-the-art styling, Rolex is also presenting the Datejust 36 and Daytona Cosmograph in various precious metal versions. The Rolex 2021 release for Watches and Wonders includes premium examples that are sure to be collected by watch enthusiasts of all kinds.

Rolex Explorer
Rolex is presenting its new-generation Oyster Perpetual Explorer. At 36 mm, it returns to the size of the original model launched in 1953 following the first ascent to the summit of Mount Everest by Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay on 29 May that year. The new-generation Explorer is notably released in a yellow Rolesor version (combining Oystersteel and 18 ct yellow gold). The black dial, now lacquered, bears the index hour markers and emblematic 3, 6 and 9 numerals that are the cornerstones of the model’s personality, evoking the determination and spirit of adventure that give rise to great achievements. The new-generation Explorer is equipped with calibre 3230, a movement at the forefront of watchmaking technology. Like all Rolex watches, the Oyster Perpetual Explorer carries the Superlative Chronometer certification, which ensures excellent performance on the wrist.
Rolex Explorer II
Rolex is introducing its new-generation Oyster Perpetual Explorer II. This technical watch, in Oystersteel, was created for the boldest explorers and now features a redesigned case and bracelet. On the white lacquer dial, the hour markers – whose black coating is applied using PVD and the black lacquer hour, minute and seconds hands stand out for their matte finish. The 24-hour hand retains its characteristic orange hue, which is the same color as the Explorer II inscription that has featured on the dial since 2011. The new-generation Explorer II also benefits from an optimized Chromalight display. In dark conditions, the intensity of the blue glow emitted by the hour markers and hands now lasts longer thanks to the innovative and exclusive luminescent material with which they are filled or coated. The new-generation Explorer II is equipped with calibre 3285, a movement at the forefront of watchmaking technology.
Exclusive Dials and Unique Designs
Rolex Datejust 36
The new Oystersteel Datejust 36 with the olive green, palm motif dial, and the yellow Rolesor version (combining Oystersteel and 18 ct yellow gold) bearing the golden, palm motif dial are fitted with an Oyster bracelet. Developed at the end of the 1930s, this three-piece link bracelet is known for its robustness. The new Everose Rolesor version(combining Oystersteel and 18 ct Everose gold) with the silver, palm motif dial has a Jubilee bracelet, just like the yellow Rolesor watch whose golden dial is decorated with the fluted motif. Supple and comfortable, the five-piece link Jubilee bracelet was specially created for the launch of the Oyster Perpetual Datejust in 1945. The Oyster and Jubilee bracelets on the Datejust 36 are equipped with a folding Oysterclasp and include the Easylink comfort extension link, developed by Rolex, which allows the wearer to easily adjust the bracelet length by approximately 5 mm. In addition, a concealed attachment system ensures seamless visual continuity between the bracelet and case.
Rolex Daytona Cosmograph
Rolex is presenting three exclusive versions of its Oyster Perpetual Cosmograph Daytona, the benchmark for those with a passion for driving and speed. All three feature a dial made from metallic meteorite – a rare natural material from outer space – with black chronograph counters at 3, 6 and 9 o’clock. The version in 18 ct white gold is fitted with a monobloc Cerachrom bezel in black ceramic with a tachymetric scale, and an Oysterflex bracelet. The other two watches, one in 18 ct yellow gold and the other in 18 ct Everose gold, have a metal bezel with a tachymetric scale and are on an Oyster bracelet. A standout visual feature of the Cosmograph Daytona since its launch, the iconic tachymetric scale is moulded into the first watch’s Cerachrom bezel and engraved on the metal bezels of the other two versions. The new versions of the Cosmograph Daytona are equipped with calibre 4130, a movement at the forefront of watchmaking technology.
