Vacheron Constantin just added some fresh styles to the Overseas lineup with two new takes on the Perpetual Calendar Ultra-Thin, both shedding light on the collection’s mix of sporty functionality and luxurious style. One comes in pink gold with a tone-on-tone golden dial, the other in white gold with a special burgundy lacquer dial. Each measures 41.5mm but remains impressively slim at just 8.1mm thick, making them surprisingly subtle on the wrist for such complicated pieces. Details like a matching moon-phase, meticulous finishing across the cases, and dial textures that catch light showcase Vacheron Constantin’s expertise in haute horology.
Of course, the real show is inside. Powering both is the in-house Calibre 1120 QP/1, an ultra-thin self-winding movement that handles the most complex challenges of the perpetual calendar. This little engine tracks the date, day, month, leap year, and moon phase without correction until the year 2100, which is about as close as horology gets to “set it and forget it.” The movement is just 4.05 mm thick but made up of 276 components. Flip the watch over and you’ll see the 22K gold rotor through a sapphire caseback, complete with a compass rose motif that ties back to the Overseas’s travel-inspired roots.
Both models feature Vacheron’s quick-change strap system, letting you swap from the solid gold bracelet to rubber straps in seconds, no tools required. The pink gold version comes with white and blue straps, while the white gold model includes white and burgundy options, so you can go from formal to relaxed without missing a beat. It’s a practical touch that sets the Overseas apart from many other perpetual calendars, which often feel more suited to safes than daily wear.
