For watch brands today, it’s common to see a collection of limited-edition examples sporting state-of-the-art design and movement technology to highlight the meticulous craftsmanship of its watchmakers. Zenith is proud to showcase its ability to create new examples based on the use of sapphire as the case material. The new Zenith DEFY Haute Horlogerie Sapphire Collection features two exquisite luxury timepieces that are entirely viewable at all angles.

The first piece of the new collection is the Defy Zero G Sapphire, which incorporates inspiration from space travel. The transparent 46mm layout allows for a closer look at the inner workings of the watch while the rest of the dial design features a space theme. Delivering power to the Defy Zero G Sapphire is Zenith’s in-house El Primero 8812 S ‘Gravity Control’ movement, which provides an approximately 50-hour power reserve. The thought of functionality carries over into the comfortable black and blue ‘cordura effect’ rubber strap and titanium double folding clasp. The all-new Zenith Defy Zero G Sapphire is limited to only 10-pieces and is now available through an authorized dealer for $159,700.

The second timepiece included in the DEFY Haute Horlogerie Sapphire Collection is the Defy 21 Double Tourbillon Sapphire, a luxury see-through chronograph that features the use of a highly complex double tourbillon movement. The 46mm case design is handcrafted from sapphire and features a partially skeletonized dial that displays the movement in action. The dial layout clearly displays the added list of functions with a sweeping counter that tracks one second per rotation. The new Defy 21 Sapphire is driven by Zenith’s in-house El Primero 9020 Automatic movement, which holds a 50-hour power reserve while operating under a 30-meter water resistance. Blending the aspects of luxury and reliability, Zenith adds a black and blue ‘cordura effect’ rubber strap with a titanium double filing clasp. The Zenith Defy 21 Double Tourbillon Sapphire is limited to only 10-pieces and is available through an authorized dealer for $180,300.
