The special Defy Extreme E ‘Island x Prix’ Edition features a lightweight 45mm case crafted from carbon and titanium, the same high-tech materials used to engineer the EV race cars that participate in Extreme E. The Defy showcases its iconic skeletonized dial that subtly blends its orange chronograph layout into the skeletonized design, highlighting the inner workings of the watch. The complex dial deciphers its chronograph, power reserve, hours and minutes, small-seconds, 30-minute counter, and 60-second counter functions. The engine delivering power to the Defy Extreme E ‘Island x Prix’ Edition is Zenith’s in-house El Primero 9004 Automatic movement, delivering a lengthy 50-hour power reserve from its 53-jewel construction. A sapphire backcase features an etched Extreme E logo with commemorative engravings surrounding the outer case, signifying the special release from Zenith. As part of its packaging, Zenith fits the Defy Extreme E with an orange velcro bracelet made from recycled Continental CrossContact tires from the first season of racing. The all-new Zenith Defy Extreme E ‘Island x Prix’ Edition is limited to only 20-pieces and is currently available through an authorized dealer for $27,100.
