Jay Leno is no stranger to rare, powerful and intriguing vehicles, and the special guest on the latest episode of “Jay Leno’s Garage” is no exception.
Nissan Chief Engineer Zack Eakin brought by the new Nissan GT-R LM Nismo, the marque’s entry for the 2015 24-Hours of Le Mans, which begins June 13. Uploaded to YouTube May 31, the episode shows Leno and Eakin talking through the finer points of design, the rules of competition and the reasoning behind a few key cut outs.
Nissan has regularly been testing this new GT-R LM Nismo, and as a May 31 release from the manufacturer tells us, they have “three GT-R LM NISMO vehicles, nine drivers and ever faster lap times” that they are bringing to the table. An interesting note about this particular car that Leno points out is the fact that it is a front-wheel-drive vehicle, while Le Mans cars are typical rear-wheel-drive.
