The modern evolution of the iconic DeLorean brand has arrived.
It has been thought by many that the DeLorean brand made a one-hit-wonder with the DMC-12. It was a car that was quirky, iconic, and somewhat infamous, but what it did most importantly was make a statement that sent shockwaves through pop culture that still has a significant impact today. However, John DeLorean had plans for a brand that continued, and the DMC-24, a.k.a DMC200 or Project 831/1, was going to be the next evolution of the DeLorean brand.

Instead, that evolution is the new DeLorean Alpha5, a new, modern DeLorean penned by Italdesign with the goal of preserving the DeLorean heritage and signature while making a modern and stunning car that speaks to DeLorean’s mission to represent the future. It’s an all-electric model with an estimated 0-60 time of 2.99 seconds, an estimated range of 300 miles or more, and an estimated top speed of 155 mph. The car is going to be fully revealed at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance this August, and along with it, DeLorean promises to tell the previously untold story of the brand after the DMC-12. It’s safe to say that the legendary DeLorean brand has come back to the future.
