Lamborghini Aventador SVJ Price

The 12-cylinder engine has been a cornerstone of Automobili Lamborghini’s legacy, serving as the powerhouse behind iconic models like the Miura and Countach, and continuing to define the brand’s commitment to exceptional performance and engineering excellence with the Aventador. The Lamborghini Aventador SVJ is the epitome of Italian engineering and luxury, launched in early 2019 with a suggested retail MSRP of $517,770 in the United States. But don’t let that base price fool you. Many owners opt for full customization, bumping the final cost to well over $699,000.

As for exclusivity, production numbers are deliberately low: only 800 Roadsters and 900 Coupes rolled off the assembly lines for highly-anticipated owners. Because of its limited production and high demand, the current market value holds strong, making it a prized asset in any supercar collection.

Lamborghini Aventador SVJ Review

If you need the ultimate Raging Bull, the new Lamborghini Aventador SVJ is the most capable car in their history. We already knew they achieved the fastest lap of the Nürburgring, and this is how they did it. Taking inspiration from the patented ALA system on the Huracan Performante, the latest Aventador has 4-corner active aerodynamics. Inlets behind the front spoiler can direct air to extractors ahead of the hood for maximum downforce. They work in conjunction with ducts in the rear quarter panels and the rear spoiler to keep the car glued to the track. It only takes 500 milliseconds to turn the system off, and this forces air into vortex generators under the body. Much like the winglets on many airliners, they offer less drag and a higher top speed (Over 217 mph). The car offers 40% more downforce than its predecessor, with 1% less drag. The real treat is that 30% of that force can be shifted left or right for the ultimate in cornering abilities.

One aspect of the Aventador SVJ that needs to be discussed is its name. More specifically, the ‘SVJ’ part. That stands for Superveloce (superfast) and Jota. The term “Jota” has been used by Lamborghini in conjunction with other models like the Miura and Diablo. The automaker reserves this term for track-focused models.

Lamborghini Aventador SVJ Specs

Although it has made incredible improvements since 2012, some aspects of the Aventador have not changed. Starting with a one-piece carbon-fiber cockpit, front and rear subframes cradle the inboard suspension. This decreases un-sprung weight and increases grip, allowing the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ top speed to be over 217 mph. On your way there, the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ 0-60 mph will flash by in under 2.8 seconds.

Lamborghini Aventador SVJ Engine

Inspired by the Lamborghini Squadra Corse racing program, the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ Engine engine is now accessed with quick-release pins. Under that cover lies a 770 horsepower and 530 lb-ft of torque. The intake and cylinder heads are all-new, with port-matched intake and exhaust systems. Titanium intake valves are lighter, allowing for a redline of 8,500 rpm. You will be at 60 mph in 2.4 seconds and 124 mph arrives in 8.6 seconds…It will go faster than 217 mph, so we wonder who will be the first to achieve the true top speed.

Lamborghini Aventador SVJ Transmission

A decade ago, every automaker embraced the dual-clutch automatic. Seen as the gearbox of the future, Lamborghini considered building one for the Aventador. But if it isn’t broke, don’t fix it. The Lamborghini Aventador SVJ Transmission uses a single dry clutch. Known as ISR, the Independent Shift Rods are controlled along with the clutch. Not only is it a proven design, but it is also half the weight of a dual-clutch transmission. The latest version of Haldex AWD uses mechanical Torsen differentials front and rear to make sure all four tires get roasted. The active center differential can send 100% of engine torque north in a few milliseconds.

Lamborghini Aventador SVJ Interior

If you intend to build a track-ready supercar, sacrifices must be made. Leather is still available, but Alcantara covers any surface that is not carbon fiber. Speaking of carbon, it is used for the structure of the cockpit along with the door panels, roof panels, instrument cluster, and even the floorboard. While it may look and feel like a coupe, the top panels are easily stowed under the hood. The seats are ready for your racing harness, and door handles have been replaced by pull straps.

Lamborghini Aventador SVJ Brakes

If you need to stop in a hurry, the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ Brakes use traditional vacuum boosting. This pressurizes 6-piston front calipers. Behind the front wheels are 15.7 carbon-ceramic rotors. Four-piston calipers squeeze 15.0″ rotors on the rear. All four rotors are 1.5″ thick to dissipate heat. This is perfect for street use, but cast iron units would be better suited for track use. The ABS system is tied into the stability control to allow the brakes to act along with the active aerodynamics to keep you safe.

Lamborghini Aventador SVJ Standout Features

Starting with the ALA system, the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ standout features are intense. Both rear wheels can steer independently of each other. Combined with the cornering forces induced by the spoilers, it offers more cornering confidence than any other V12 supercar. A curb weight of 3,472 lbs is impressive considering the big V12, All Wheel Drive and the creature comforts found within. The final measure of grip comes from Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires. They measure 255/30/20 front and 355/25/21 rear. To fit such massive rubber, the wheels are 20’x9″ front and 21″x13″ rear.
