It hasn’t been very long since Maserati revealed its very first all-electric model, the GranTurismo Folgore, and in doing so, the historic Italian luxury manufacturer announced that its new, smaller Grecale SUV would be the next model to receive the all-electric Folgore name. With Asia, and especially the Chinese market being an important hub for the adoption and progression of electric vehicle technology, Maserati chose to reveal the new all-electric Grecale Folgore at the 2023 Shanghai Auto Show, and it combines the Grecale’s style, practicality, and luxury with futuristic electric power and efficiency.
While specs and performance numbers are yet to be revealed for the new Maserati Grecale Folgore, we do know that the first all-electric Maserati, the GranTurismo Folgore, boasts more than 750 horsepower and a lightning-fast 0-60 time of under 2.7 seconds. With that in mind, expectations are sure to be quite high for the Grecale Folgore, which already shows similarities to its GranTurismo Folgore stablemate. The car revealed in Shanghai has a similar configuration to the GranTurismo Folgore Maserati initially revealed, with the same unique wheel design, a similar interior, and similar paintwork. The reveal of the new Maserati Grecale Folgore is exciting news, and Maserati says that electric versions of all of its models will be revealed by 2025, meaning fully-electric versions of the Levante, Ghibli, Quattroporte, and MC20 supercar may be coming soon.
