Bisi Ezerioha of Bisimoto Engineering created an absolute masterpiece with this 1980 Porsche 911 BR. His handiwork has allowed for an 80’s Porsche to embody the styling of the previous 911 generation created from 1969-1973. It comes painted in Slate Gray with Fuchs-inspired allow wheels and, of course, a lowered ride height. Powering the car is a 3.6-liter engine that has a late model GT3 intake manifold attached, as well as a fully sequential fuel injection system and custom pulse chamber exhaust system. Altogether, the powertrain produces 316 hp, a hefty amount for a car that weighs in at only 2,400 lbs. Along with the powertrain, Bisimoto Engineering also updated the rear suspension.
Inside, the seats have been inspired by ones found in an aircraft and were handformed from aluminum. The driver will control the car through a Momo Prototipo, an iconic steering wheel. If the outside didn’t tell you that this is truly a custom, driver-oriented car, the interior will.

Mecum, the company who will be auctioning off this car at their Monterey event (August 18-20) notes that this is the type of car that Steve McQueen would have commissioned as his personal 911 if he were alive today. From the aircraft-inspired seats to the wheel, these are all things that the “King of Cool” would’ve wanted. And this is what makes the fact that all proceeds of this car will benefit a non-profit community that helped McQueen turn his life around, Boys Republic, that much better.
When McQueen was a child, he found himself in an altercation with his abusive stepfather. At a young age, McQueen was sent off to Boys Republic in order get a hold of his behavioral and emotional difficulties. In his later years, he reflected on his time spent with the Boys Republic and credited them for helping him turn his life around.
Whoever gets the winning bid on this car is not only getting a superb automobile, but helping troubled adolescents who will get a chance to turn their life around– just like Steve McQueen.
