Since its original debut, the Art for Art program brought in more than 500 submissions ranging from paintings, sculptures, prints, photography, and installations. The first trade, between Polestar and an anonymous street art collector in Sweden, took place in March 2022, when an original piece was traded for a Polestar 1 in Osmium. The happy new Polestar 1 owner expresses his love for the brand and its once-of-a-lifetime opportunity, saying “It’s a special feeling to own something made in limited numbers, but I will definitely drive the car. If I were only to keep it as a collector’s item, it would have been more practical to keep the art piece – it’s easier to store as well.”

Polestar continues its Art for Art project with leading private art advisor Theodore Dalenson acting as the middle man during the process. Along with having an art specialist on hand, Polestar also enlists the help of auction house Sotheby’s to ensure the value of the art equates to that of the Polestar 1. The Polestar 1 defines itself as a luxury sedan with a 619-horsepower capability from its sophisticated hybrid powertrain. Launching from 0-60mph in just 3.7-seconds, the Polestar 1 features a Twin-Charged I4 engine with 2 additional electric motors that provide instant torque to the wheels.
