In the world of luxury watches, creative collaborations introduce new styles, materials, and technology that differentiates from other examples made using traditional method of watchmaking. It’s a story that the luxury product professionals at Bamford London know all too well, with an ongoing partnership with the global brand Michelin. The duo first began its journey with the release of the Swiss-made Bamford B347 model in 2021. Bamford London x Michelin are proud to return to the watch industry with the all-new B347 Pilot Sport, an exclusive 133-piece limited edition series that represents each year since Michelin was founded in 1889.
The Michelin x Bamford B347 Pilot Sport takes on a 41.5mm case design crafted from lightweight carbon fiber, with a checker flag inner bezel as a nod to motorsports. The matte black dial uses bright white sub-dials to display the functions of the cam operated chronograph. The functions include hours, minutes and small second at 9 o’clock, 60 seconds counter in the center, 30 minutes counter at 3 o’clock, Date with quick setting, Self-winding mechanism with ball bearing, and a stop second device. Powering the B347 Pilot Sport is a Stellita SW510 caliber, an automatic movement with two push-buttons and a power reserve of 62-hours. The black-coated steel backcase showcases an engraving of the iconic Michelin Man and the production number of each individual watch. With rubber being its specialty, Michelin developed a unique colored strap made using recycled Pilot Sport 5 test tires. The strap features a real tread pattern, taken from the Pilot Sport 5: specifically, a 225/40 ZR18 (92Y) tire. This size tire would be used on cars like the retro BMW E36 and E46 M3, and the British-built Lotus Evora, Morgan Aero 8, and many more. The new limited-edition Michelin x Bamford B347 Pilot Sport is currently available on the Bamford London website for $3,063.
