The 911 GT3 is already a serious track tool, but there is always more time to find at the track, more specifically at the ‘Ring. Porsche and Manthey Racing set out to do so with the new Manthey Kit for the 992.2 GT3, revealed earlier this week. In a video released this weekend, Porsche showed the upgraded GT3 attacking the Nürburgring Nordschleife, clocking in a time of 6 minutes 52.981 seconds, 2.76 seconds faster than the previous generation Manthey-equipped GT3. The lap came on Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R tires with reigning DTM champion Ayhancan Güven at the wheel.
Manthey Racing, based in Meuspath near the ‘Ring, operates at the heart of European endurance racing. Porsche has held a majority stake in the company since 2013, making the collaboration more integrated than anything in the aftermarket. Manthey has secured multiple Nürburgring 24 Hours victories running Porsche GT machinery, and that experience flows directly into road car development.

The standard facelifted 992.2 GT3 arrived back in October last year and already improved aero efficiency, thermal cooling, and chassis refinement, while retaining the naturally aspirated 4.0-liter flat six (no T-Hybrid here). The Manthey Kit takes that foundation and scales it significantly, with a more serious Aero package. Even in road configuration, the upgraded 911 GT3 now produces 782 pounds of downforce at 177 mph. But switch into Circuit Mode and downforce jumps to 1,190 pounds. The difference in behavior at high speed is not subtle.
Much of that gain comes from radical underbody work as Manthey has extended the turning vanes to about 59 inches, added a full cover beneath the front luggage area, and fitted new diffuser fins and canards. Up top, the widened rear wing receives enlarged end plates that curve inward for cleaner airflow, plus a Gurney flap to stabilize rear balance. The rear diffuser uses longer fins, while the rear carbon aero discs reduce turbulence and create the visual illusion of asymmetry. The forged wheels underneath match in design, but they shed 13.2 pounds of unsprung mass compared to stock.

Suspension tuning is significant with four-way adjustable coilovers that come standard in the kit, letting you alter rebound and compression without tools. Spring rates are now up by 10 percent up front to match the aero load. Braided steel brake lines come standard, and PCCB-specific racing pads are optional.
No word on pricing yet, but the previous generation 992.1 Manthey Kit started at $57,300, including installation. The new package will be available through more than 40 Manthey-certified Porsche Centers nationwide and will not void the factory warranty.
