Hispano Suiza evolves its Carmen hypercar again.
The Hispano Suiza Carmen is a futuristic evolution of one of the world’s most desirable historic manufacturers. With a storied repertoire of classics known for wowing audiences and winning awards at Concours events, the new all-electric hypercar combines historic styling with modern performance and engineering. Now, the Carmen and Carmen Boulogne have been officially joined by the new Carmen Sagrera, a racing-focused version of the Carmen.
The reveal of the Carmen Sagrera coincides with Hispano Suiza’s 120th anniversary and comes 5 years since the introduction of the Carmen family in 2019. With a battery capacity increased from 80 kWh to 103 kWh, the driving range is increased by over 60 miles compared to the standard Carmen hypercar, climbing to nearly 300 miles. Its four electric motors total to produce 1,100 horsepower and 856 lb/ft of torque, and ample downforce is provided by a sizeable wing resembling stork wings and paying homage to Hispano Suiza’s logo.
Overall, improved grip, braking systems, racing-ready suspension, and a virtual self-locking differential ensure formidable track performance, and the new Hispano Suiza Carmen Sagrera’s specially-developed Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires feature design elements inspired by the motifs of legendary Spanish architect Antoni Gaudí. After being revealed at Finca Mas Solers, the Carmen Sagrera is setting off to be shown off at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed, where it will make its dynamic debut at the legendary Hillclimb in July.
